Your Local Admin (the person in your community that knows something about computers, no programming or web knowledge required) can then set up a few parameters.
The default installation allows you to personalise:
- typeset and width
- menu items
- the way new members sign up (with or without permission)
- messages sent to new, and activated members
- currency settings (min. & max. etc.)
- messages sent concerning transactions
- activities of interest in your calendar
- News items on the first page after logging in
- newsletter mailing lists
- offers and wants categories
- document categories
- image gallery categories.

Community Forge is all about Doing things. Too many people use the excuse "we don't have the money to do it". We don't. We just move ahead with the resources that we have (mostly human, which includes you;). Our successes show this is the best way forward.
