2011 Agenda : CommunityForge Complementary Currency Strategy Retreat

We'll be discussing, defining and forming a new CC Community of Practice especially for experienced practitioners to support new initiatives.

We'll also be working with the attendees to decide how Community Forge can be most relevant to their projects, and reconsidering our governance structure and funding strategy.

Friday eve

5 pm Transport from Lyon to Tiocan
7 pm Welcome drink with three-questions, get-to-know-each-other game
8 pm Dinner at giant common table
9 pm Opening remarks, desired outcomes

Saturday

09:00 5-minute formal presentations of each participant
"What are you doing within the CC movement?"
"What are the 2 or 3 most important factors that influence your goals and your work in the CC movement?" (i.e technology, communities, policy, people, ideas, environments, events, etc.)
10:30 coffee
11:00 Using the results from your SWOT, and your presentation of the "2-3 most important factors" done previously, CommunityForge will present a "landscape" of the CC movement and the issues faced in the different areas. Participants will form groups in relation to this landscape.
11:30 The groups will discuss and define responses or suggestions to the issues faced in their specific area.
12:30 Plenum? With the results from the group work above, participants will determine how CommunityForge can best use its resources to help the CC movement forward

14:00 Define and Design the Community of Practice by asking key questions and doing exercises

09:30 CommunityForge will present/propose a prototype of the tools for the coordination of the CoP, which will have been created the previous eve/night taking into consideration the group work from Saturday.

11:30 In order to start using the Prototype in a real-world situation, we have organised Lightning talks. During these talks, a list of tasks and next steps for that CC project is created. Then participants may commit to doing those tasks to get both the project and the CoP rolling.
